design for print

Good brochures stay in your hand.
Good design stays in your head.

A clear design process will clarify exactly what it is a brochure needs to convey, directly through words and imagery, or more subtly through factors such as choice of paper or use of colour.

A picture is still worth a thousand words.

Your target
We look first at your intended audience and key messages. We'll need to know how the finished print will end up in that person's hand!

Text and pictures
Most customers provide finished text, which we can tweak to suit a particular concept.
Where you need the right picture to create the right impression, Shine offers a large photo archive to bring ideas and concepts to reality. You may need a photoshoot for a more specific image requirement.

Production
Textured paper, metallic inks or a simple variation from a time-trodden format... there are many ways to print a better brochure for the same budget. The subtlest thing can set the finished item in a class of its own.

Planning
As a medium print can seem expensive. Unit cost decreases massively with quantity so low cost printing is achieved by forward planning and flexible design. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

If you are considering developing your letterhead, business card, brochure or other literature, ask customers, suppliers and friends for feedback. We can provide you with a free design critique and some good ideas.
